Sweet and Sour Pork

It is a popular Cantonese dish which was eaten by ancient China inhabitants. It has a mix of sweet and salty flavors.

  • 680 g loin pork slices without bones
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 570 g pineapple pieces in juice
  • cup water
  • cup vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • cup brown sugar
  • teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • cup slice onion
  • 2 green peppers cut in strips
Sweet and Sour Pork
Cut the pork loin slices into strips; stir-fry the meat in hot oil until it is brown. Drain the juice of the pineapple and then combine it with ¾ cup water, vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar and salt. Finally, add the mix into the wok.

Cover the wok and simmer the meat until it is tender or around 1 hour. Combine cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water in a separate cup and stir the mix until it is smooth.

Add the mix of cornstarch to the wok and stir until it is bubbly, once the preparation is bubbly add pineapples pieces, onions and green pepper. Finally the mixture must simmer for about 10 more minutes. Serve hot with rice or noodles.
